Notes for Eulalie Jeanette McKnight
In loving memory of Eulalie McKnight McLaurin186

Eulalie McKnight McLaurin, age 88, of Huntersville, N.C. and Clio, S.C. died on June 1, 2017. She was born on August 22, 1928 to the late Preston McKnight and Emma McGee McKnight of Coward, S.C. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Neil Duncan McLaurin, sisters, Louise M. Byrd, Leona M. Vause, and brothers, Lavern McKnight, Lamar McKnight.
She graduated from J.C. Lynch High School in 1945. "Miss Eula" was a member and elder of Carolina Presbyterian Church, a member of the Chapter of the Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron. She was known for her love of family and church, her beautiful hand quilting skills and gardening green thumb; as someone once said, "She could root anything but an iron stob." She designed and made her daughters, son-in-law and grandchildren each a beautiful hand-quilted quilt.
She is survived by her daughter, Emma Neil Ogle, son-in-law, Michael E. Ogle of Huntersville, N.C., granddaughter Laurin Ogle of Charlotte, N.C. ; daughter, Annette Newman of McDonough, Ga.; grandsons, Neil Newman (Kat) and Spence Newman (Jamie) of McDonough Ga; her sister, Annie Mae Pate of Coward, SC , two great granddaughters, nieces, nephews and cousins. "My NaNa" as she was known by her grandchildren will be remembered as a fun loving, happy, devoted Christian example that put other"s needs before her own. She enjoyed humor, jokes, singing hymns, reading, quilting and sewing. Memorial contributions can be made to Carolina Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, 4555 Parrish Mill Road, Little Rock, South Carolina, 29567.
