Charles was a retired contractor and a brick mason. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Belvedere, SC, and the following organizations: the Lions Club, the Masonic Lodge and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Charles died at his residence in Belvedere and was buried in Sunset Memory Gardens, Langley, SC.
