COLUMBIA, S.C. - Entered into rest Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at Baptist Hospital in Columbia, Mr. James E. Pardue, husband of the late Ethel "Mae" Jones Pardue and son of the late James E. Pardue Sr., and the late Alice Horne Pardue. He is survived by a son, Don A. Pardue and daughter-in-law, Sharon Pardue of Columbia; a daughter, Patricia P. Eckhardt and son-in-law, Norman W. Eckhardt Jr., of Columbia; five grandchildren, Lisa P. Batten, Brian A. Pardue, Julia A. Eckhardt, Norman W. Eckhardt III, and David P.
Eckhardt; three great- grandchildren, Rebekah Batten, Rachel Batten and Sarah Batten; two sisters, Lois Berry and Alice Yonce. Mr. Pardue was born in Warrenville on July 23, 1915 and was a life long resident of this area.
He had lived the past 12 years in Columbia. He was a retired builder and a retired carpenter and also taught carpentry for Aiken County School District. He was a member of St. John United Methodist Church in Graniteville, and a member of Graniteville Masonic Star Lodge No. 99. He was an Army Air Corpe Veteran of World War II. The funeral service will be conducted Friday, July 5, 2002, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Coursey officiating. The interment will follow in Sunset
Memory Gardens, Graniteville. Pallbearers will be grandsons, David P. Eckhardt and Norman W. Eckhardt III. Other pallbearers will be Ollie Eubanks, Jack Williams, Danny Johnson and Ed Holsonback. The family will receive friends at Napier Funeral Home tonight, Thursdsay, from 6 to 8 p.m. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main Street, Graniteville, is in charge of arrangements.
